I know I said I was going to post once a week, but that didn't quite happen last week, so bear with me. It's been about 2 weeks... I have actually been very busy, both in my craft room and at work (the swine flu extended my track season). And since I am mass producing my main project for the moment, I don't actually have a lot of DIFFERENT things to show you. I am desperately trying to get back to my scrapbooking, but have been getting sidetracked by everything under the sun everytime I sit down to design a page. SO, with that being said, here are my goals for the week: 1. Post my weekend project (which I am doing tonight), and 2. make another huge effort towards finishing my TOP NOTE GIFT BOXES I am making as "Going- Away-For-The-Summer" treats for the other teachers and staff members at school. Since I am making about 50 boxes, I have been trying to do a little each night. I would estimate that I am half- finished with the project, but don't have one actually completed. I will post when I get one done. I would like to get most of them done and be able to finish over the weekend, so I can actually scrapbook this Saturday or Sunday. Wish me luck!!

Here is my project from the weekend. It is my very first Flower Pot card and I absolutely love it and had fun making it. I had been wanting to try it for awhile and had seen a ton of them on SCS, heard how "easy," they were, and just didn't believe it for myself. I finally got around to trying it out and do you know what?? It was SUPER DUPER easy! I couldn't believe it! One piece of cardstock made 2 pots and it was as simple as can be. I downloaded a tutorial from someone's else's blog, so if you are interested just let me know and I can either direct you to her tutorial or help you out myself. In the meantime... Sorry, I didn't post the last pictures very well and I haven't quite figured out how to edit it yet. The pink card is the first one I talk about and the blue one (the first picture) is the second one I made. I will get the hang of this soon!

Well, trust me, the posting will slow down... but while I have a few extra minutes, I wanted to show ya'll the 2 cards I have made so far this weekend. I really loved the colors on the first one, but something seemed kind of "off" for my sentiment and focal point of the card. I couldn't quite figure it out, but instead of add more, I followed the old addage "less is more" and left it alone. It's still kind of nagging me, but I have decided to just let it be. However, if you have a suggestion for something I might have been able to do to improve it, don't hesistant to leave me a message!

For the card, I used the following: SU Mellow Moss, Regal Rose, and Creamy Caramel. I used the stamp set Lots of Thoughts (sale-a-bration) and the cuttlebug folder "textile." I used nestablilities for the scalloped rectangle and my scallop circle punch for the center. Unknown brand of ribbon. I think it was from a coordinating set from Hobby Lobby.

My second card was really one that I liked. I made a total of eight and had to use 3 different colors of ribbon because every one I picked was at the end of the roll. In the end, I loved the brown ribbon the best.

Here is the recipe: SU Baja Breeze, Laundry Line Paper Block by My Mind's Eye for the patterned paper and basic cream and white card stock. I used chocolate chip ribbon and the SU stamp set Three Little Words. I don't know how clear it is in the picture, but I stitched a coordinating blue line at the bottom of the card. I used the blue thread that came with my Pixie. So far so good with the 2nd machine.... keep you fingers crossed.

I have a goal to make of couple of scrapbook pages today in honor of National Scrapbook Day. We will see how long I can burn the midnight oil!

This is my most recent card. I really loved making it. My lighting did not do the colors justice in the picture. I used SU Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, and Raspberry Tart DS paper. I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder, the SU Priceless Stamp Set, chocolate chip ink and ribbon. I did the stictching with my Pixie, although, it broke before I could finish all 6 cards. I managed to get enough done to complete 3. I returned the Pixie, but haven't gotten around to finishing the other 3. Perhaps that will be something I do today. Last night I made 8 more cards, all the same design. I will try to get that one uploaded by tomorrow. Currently, I am trying to finish all the thank-you cards for my DS's birthday gifts. I have 6 more cards to make and then my next project is going to be the end of the year goodies for my fellow teachers. I am thinking about a top-note gift card box using the top note die cut from Stampin' Up! I will try a sample and see if I like it. Will keep ya'll posted on that one.
Since I am so "behind" everyone else, my first task is going to be to load the proects/ cards I have done in this last month. Hopefully, by the time I finish with those, I'll have new ones lined up to show you. I also post on twopeasinabucket.com (SouthTxScrapper) and splitcoaststampers.com (wsanchez). Hello!! I am the last of my scrappin' friends to set up a blog, so I am following their lead. A working mother to a 1 year old DS, my goal is to post once a week. We will see how it goes from there. I have been papercrafting and scrapbooking for 5 years and I absolutely am addicted. Of course, I wish I had more time to devote to this passion, but I do get in every little spare minute that I have.
